Clothes Moths are not a health risk but they can cause costly damage to fabrics. Warm dark wardrobes and drawers are the cosy home of these pests. Their offspring chew through your clothes, rugs and curtains, slowly spreading around the home.
There are four main species of clothes moth in British homes. Prevention is better than cure. Keep clothes and furnishings clean and dry, as the clothes months are attracted by the moisture of perspiration. Besides your wardrobe they like undisturbed places such as under chairs and beneath carpets. For effective eradication, our experts would be needed to ensure use of insecticides in all affected areas.
HOW TO IDENTIFY
If you are noticing holes in your clothes and damage to carpeting its likely you have a clothes moth issue. Its the larvae rather than the moth that does all the damage, and as the larvae may take on the colour of the fabric they can be hard to spot.
